Training and Experience

Eva Dillon is a psychodynamically trained psychotherapist with degrees and certification from the Silberman School of Social Work, the University of Michigan and, AASECT, The American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists. She trained extensively with some of the foremost experts in the field of relationships and sex including–Drs. Julie and John Gottman at Gottman Couples TherapySue Johnson at Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) and, Peggy Kleinplatz of Optimal Sexual Experiences–and has attended and participated in countless talks and panel discussions on this subject.

Client Focus

Ms. Dillon sees both Couples and Adult Individuals.  Her practice includes a subspecialty of adults 65+.   Communities she treats (in addition to heterosexual) include: Cisgender; Bisexual, Gay and Lesbian Allied; Open Relationships, Non-monogamy; Sex-Positive, Kink Allied and Transgender Allied.

Patient Issues

In addition to sex therapy, her practice includes treatment for: anxiety; depression; family conflict; life transitions; marital and premarital; men’s issues; trauma (Psychedelic Integration Therapy); self esteem; stress; transgender issues and women’s issues.

One Size Does Not Fit All

Ms. Dillon employs a diversity of therapeutic approaches in her practice depending on the needs and personality of her clients.  She has had instruction and coaching in a range of approaches including: Attachment-based; Cognitive Behavioral (CBT); Culturally Sensitive; Emotionally Focused; Existential; Experiential Therapy; Family/Marital; Gottman Method; Motivational Interviewing; Narrative; Psychodynamic; Relational; Solution Focused Brief (SFBT); and, Strength Based.
